On the Main Stage at Paris Blockchain Week 2025, Odelia Torteman shared her insights on the panel 'Blockchain and Tokenized Economies: Shaping the Future of Digital Interaction' and on autonomous digital agents. She highlighted the convergence of tokenization and AI, envisioning the Agentic Web, where autonomous AI agents operating on blockchain protocols introduce a new paradigm by driving economic activity and growth.

Odelia emphasized, "At its core, tokenization embodies the central promise of blockchain- the power to create secure, programmable digital representations of any asset, seamlessly and securely. “Tokenization is not just a technical upgrade — it’s a fundamental redesign of how value is created, exchanged, and experienced across the digital and physical world.” She sees the intersection of tokenization and AI as the most exciting use case, enabling new economic paradigms.

What motivates you every day?

Fintech & Digital Finance: “What excites me most is how digital finance is opening new possibilities—automating processes and reimagining traditional financial services, products, value chains, and even assets. The impact is transformational, for developed economies and even more so for emerging markets, where financial inclusion and access to digital infrastructure can spur economic growth at an unprecedented scale."

Making an Impact: “As the daughter of a physicist, I grew up believing that R&D and technology are at the very heart of progress, modernization, and digitization. Today, in my field of expertise, I have the privilege of playing a small role in this ongoing transformation.”

Sports & Movement: “I believe in the connection between body and mind. Having spent years as a classical ballet dancer and an athlete, movement has always been a core part of my life; it’s a discipline, a mindset, and a source of energy, balance & focus.”

Why did you join XRPL Commons?

The Technology: “The deeper I dive into XRPL’s functionalities, the more I recognize its transformative potential. It's built from its core for corporate adoption, specifically for FSI."

The Team: “Commons may be small, but it operates with the precision, agility, and determination of a team of barracudas. The energy, expertise, and collaborative spirit here are truly unmatched, making every challenge exciting!"

Paris: “Being half-French, joining Commons in Paris feels like a homecoming in many ways. Beyond its historic charm, Paris is rapidly emerging as a leading tech hub, making it the perfect place to be at the forefront of the blockchain and AI revolution."

What is your mission as Corporate Adoptions Director?

My mission is to bridge the gap between enterprises and blockchain innovation, ensuring that companies recognize and leverage the full potential of the XRPL.

This involves three key areas:

1. Spreading awareness regarding the tangible benefits of integrating the XRPL into enterprises’ business models.

2. Guiding companies through adoption by providing the expertise and strategic direction to navigate each stage of the adoption process—from proof-of-concept to full-scale integration.

3. Maximizing blockchain’s potential by focusing on designing real-world, market-relevant use cases, enhancing ledger functionalities, and developing key strategic partnerships fostering meaningful innovation.

What are the biggest trends you see coming up in the field of blockchain?

Blockchain and AI: "The movement from Web2 to Web3 has been such a groundbreaking one, with the ability to tokenize different types of assets. What happens when you put an AI engine or an AI model on top of these ever- increasing portfolios of diverse programmable assets? The sky's the limit."

AI Agents: "We’re seeing more developments of AI agents operating on blockchain protocols. AI Agents for content creation, distribution, and monetization. Agents producing content, operating on social platforms, utilizing AI mechanisms to power on-chain social experiences. AI agents for data collection, for validations, and much more."

Tokenization of Real-World Assets: "Everything related to the tokenization of assets goes hand in hand with that. This includes tokenizing financial assets and instruments such as deposits, ETFs, loans, mutual funds, and even balance sheets, as well as intangible and 'irregular' assets such as biometric data."

Digital Identity: “Digital identity is an essential element in securing the new digital economy. Blockchain can enforce the fundamental ownership right of identity, which is crucial for the Web3 economy, ensuring secure and verifiable identities. As AI is increasingly adopted by individuals and organizations—and as the use of AI agents expands, along with concerns about deepfakes and cyber threats—we need a unique, valid ‘Proof of Humanity’.”

Odelia Torteman continues to drive institutional adoption of XRPL, shaping real-world applications and forging partnerships that unlock the full potential of blockchain technology.
